Martha's Vineyard Outfitters is a fly fishing and light tackle guide service located on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard. We specialize in fishing the island's near coastal waters and seemingly endless network of flats, bays and estuaries targeting striped bass, bluefish, bonito, and false albacore.

The Vineyard is one of the most diverse and dynamic fisheries on the entire east coast. From the shallow, sandy rips of the Wasque shoals off Chappaquiddick on the island’s east end to the to the rocky craggy shorelines of the the north shore and the Elizabeth Islands to the high cliffs of Aquinnah and Squibnocket on the west side the island is home to more prime striped bass habitat than almost anywhere in the world.

We approach this incredible environment in a comfortable and fast 20 foot NorthCoast center console boat. The vessel is outfitted with top of the line electronics and safety equipment that’s meticulously maintained and often tested to ensure that your day on the water is as safe as it is fun. The NorthCoast has high gunwales and a wide beam allowing us to safely fish big water in rough conditions however it’s “modified V” hull design and trolling motor permit us to sight fish the the island’s literally hundreds of flats and explore its many salt ponds and interior tide waters. We keep the boat on a trailer allowing us to minimize running time and maximize fishing time. Being mobile also affords us the opportunity to base the day’s departure decision on prevailing winds, tides, and current fishing trends.

Captain Brice Contessa, owner and operator of Martha's Vineyard Outfitters is a full time professional fishing guide with close to two decades of experience in the business who has been fishing the waters of Martha’s Vineyard his entire life. Brice is a stewardship minded guide and angler who is a member of several different conservation organizations and has written extensively on the subject. We encourage our clients to catch and release whenever possible. A New York native, Brice moved to the Vineyard year round over 20 years ago where he now lives with his wife Samantha and beagle Ladybird.

We are currently taking bookings for the 2023 season. Space is limited, so we encourage you to book as early as possible. Half day, 3/4 day and full day trips are available, fishing early May - mid November.
